Ceramic cutting tools emerged in the 1980s and have higher hardness, redness, and wear resistance than traditional hard alloy cutting tools. They have stable chemical properties and do not react with workpiece materials, but their toughness is insufficient. It has good cutting performance and service life when processing materials with high plasticity, such as steel and plastics with low carbon content, and is therefore widely used in processing plastic materials. However, when ceramic cutting tools are used to process hard and brittle materials that are difficult to machine, the tool bears a large impact and is prone to blade breakage, greatly shortening the tool's service life.
