Unbonded phase WC based hard alloys refer to those that do not contain or contain a small amount of metal binder (<0 Hard alloy materials with a mass fraction of 5%, also known as WC based metal ceramic materials, are emerging and developing materials in recent years, with excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance, and red hardness [3,4]. At present, it has been applied in fields such as machining tools, mining equipment, molds, and wear-resistant parts. However, due to the lack of bonding phase, it is difficult to densify tool materials without bonding phase, and the insufficient toughness limits their development, especially in the application of cutting tools. This article provides a review of the research achievements on non bonded phase hard alloy cutting tools both domestically and internationally, explaining the difficulties and problems in the current application and development of non bonded phase hard alloy cutting tools, and making reasonable speculations on the future development of non bonded phase hard alloy cutting tools.
